SUNDAY 15TH JULY, 2018
THEME: A CLEAN HEART
TEXT: PSALM 51: 1-8
MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 51:13 “Then will I teach transgressors
Thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto Thee.”
This Psalm was written by David to ask for forgiveness and restoration from the Lord. When you have erred from the faith, it is not good to suppose that all is well. Seeking forgiveness and restoration is the very key to making you who you are supposed to be. Even after seeking forgiveness, ask for the renewal of the right spirit within you. The sin you committed was not right, so you need the right heart to be put back in you. This was what David sought from God. Everyone at one time or the other has sinned, and come short of the glory of God, but not everyone asks God for a new heart and to make him/her whole again. This is one area of life that needs attention. We pretend that we can manage and patch or make up. We cannot make up without seeking for body and heart cleansing and renewal.

It is good for us to clean up the dirt with the power and Word of the Lord. Accepting Jesus is a good and right decision but committing sin is a life-threatening act which can mar the person’s eternity. The matter of confession and seeking restoration must be sought with all our heart and the cleansing must be total.

Restoration and Cleaning, like letter ‘Q and U’ must go together every time. The Psamist in verses 1-9 of the Psalm seeks forgiveness and from 10 to the end for restoration, cleansing and renewal. May the Lord bring us back to our level of relationship with Him in the name of Jesus Christ.

Whatever your position is, don’t just seek forgiveness, also seek restoration and cleansing as well and let the Lord make you totally whole.
HYMN: EMHB 386 – O THOU WHO CAMEST FROM ABOVE…
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, touch and cleanse my heart from every iniquity, make me to meet Your standard in life. Amen.
