Have you ever been on WhatsApp and a broadcast message comes in with a very emotional message and just when you are approaching the end, still basking in the euphoria of the ‘deep’ heartfelt message, you stop dead in your tracks when the last few words read “forward to 10 people in 20mins if not you will experience failure for seven days’’?
I am sure we have at one time or the other.
It becomes more hilarious when some people actually repost these messages.
There and then, these questions pop up on my mind:
“Where do your blessings truly lie?”
“Are they resident in someone’s utterance?”
“What effects do these pronunciations have; do they even have any at all?”
“Should such messages even be condoned in the first place?”
“What does the Bible say about such?”
To answer these questions, I went through the Bible and oh boy!
Look what I found:
37 “Who has spoken and it came to pass, unless the Lord has commanded it?”
3 “Thus says the Lord God, Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!”
1 “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.”
What do these tell us in essence?
In as much as it might be important to rebroadcast these messages, you are not under any obligation to!
It is your sole decision to either repost these messages or not to.
Therefore, all ye broadcast ‘guilt trippers’, you need not and all ye that live in fear of these threats, Jesus has you covered!
