DAILY REFLECTION: STAND STILL – SUNDAY 24TH NOVEMBER, 2019

Sunday 24th November, 2019

Theme: STAND STILL

Passage: Exodus 14:1-14

There are times in peoples’ lives when it seems they cannot retreat or go forward and the way is blocked to the right and to the left. Times when we are confronted with dire circumstances and seemingly extraordinary difficulties. Times when Satan, the enemy will come and whisper “Give up.” Time when we may think that it is difficult to live the life of a Christian. Times when impatience and anxiety will want to take over our lives.

God had a purpose for bringing the Children of Israel to the Red Sea .Don’t forget that the Israelites were following the will of God, taking the path directed and the leadership given to them by God. Yet their faiths were tested and enemies wanted to attack them from the rear.

When we face difficulties in life, God is still in the business of accomplishing his promises to us. He only wants to make his glory known to others through those challenges. He wants to teach us to trust Him completely. In times of the difficulties of life, stand still, fix your focus on God and on his promises and not on your problem or challenges.

God has a plan. It may be something different from what we could ever imagine, because He in mysterious ways His wonders do perform, but He has a plan for us (Jer.29:11). He will surely get us to the other side of our ‘Red sea.’ The battle is not ours. We just have to be firmly grounded in our faith. In times of uncertainty, wait. If you have any doubt wait, meditate on these passages: Rom 15:13 and Eph 3:20, Psalm 46:10.

MEMORY VERSE: ISAIAH 40:31 “But those who wait on the Lord; shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

HYMN: MHB 511- BEGONE, unbelief; my Saviour is near.

PRAYER: At your word Oh Lord, I wait patiently for your mighty hand of deliverance and victory in Jesus Christ’s name.
