DAILY REFLECTION: THAT UNKNOWN GOD – TUESDAY 26TH NOVEMBER, 2019

Tuesday 26th November, 2019

Theme: That Unknown God
Passage: Acts 17:16-34

Apostle Paul was on his second missionary journey and he visited the city of Athens, where they had many statues erected for all their known gods and a statue for an unknown god. Paul utilized that opportunity to spread the Good News about Jesus Christ. He made them realize that the unknown God was the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, who created the heavens and the earth.

Many people are wallowing in ignorance, battered and imprisoned by sin, highly religious but are yet to know Christ just as the people of Athens. God wants you to help others to know him. But you have to know him before you can show him to others, because you cannot give what you don’t have.

You don’t have to be ashamed of your status before God if you have not known him. Philip was not ashamed, he said Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us, John 14:8. God is righteous. He gave us the grace to know Him and mandates us to make Him known to others Matt 28:19-20.

This is a passionate call to rise from your spiritual slumber and evangelize. Our generation is filled with different kinds of evil and the kingdom of darkness is not tired, but the children of God seem to be waning in proclaiming the gospel. Utilize every opportunity in your house, school, farm, working place, in the vehicle, on the road, wherever, and whenever to make God known to people.

MEMORY VERSE: ACTS 17:24 “God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.”

HYMN: MHB 316 – WE have heard a joyful sound.

PRAYER: Lord, please endow me with the enablement to win souls at all times in all places.
