DAILY REFLECTION: YOU ARE PRECIOUS – MONDAY 16TH DECEMBER, 2019

Monday 16th December, 2019

Theme: You Are Precious

Passage: Isaiah 43:1-13

Man is God’s precious creature. God loves a man whom He formed as the apex of His works (Isaiah:43:4). God sets him apart from the animals and plants He has made before, He created man to enjoy a deep relationship with Him. God has a precious plan and purpose for man, as it is explicitly stated in the Bible that, man was created in the image of God which means man partook of God’s identity (Gen 1:27); All he needed was made available before he was made; He was given authority over the earth, the sea and the air (Gen 1: 28).

God didn’t use only His words to make the first man, God used His hands and breath and also made for man a companion that would enjoy life with him (Gen 2: 18). Man disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden and he was alienated from God (Gen 3). But God made provision through His only begotten Son to save us from sin.

The Bible says “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God, not because of works, lest any should boast (Eph 2: 8-9). God’s offer of salvation for man is by grace and faith in Jesus Christ is the funnel through which we receive it. God will not by any means either honour a sinner or count a sinner precious in His own sight on the day of reckoning.

For you to retain your preciousness before God and benefit from what Christ has done for you on the cross of Calvary, you need to;
• Acknowledge and repent of your sin;
• Renounce Satan and all his activities;
• Receive Christ as your Saviour and Lord,
• Put your faith in His atoning work;
• Rely on God to live a victorious life to remain precious before God.

MEMORY VERSE: Isaiah 43:4 “Because you are precious in my eyes and honoured, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life”

HYMN: MHB 448 – O LOVE that will not let me go

PRAYER: Lord, may I cherish your precious gift of life through Christ more than the pleasure of sin in Jesus’ name. Amen.
