DAILY REFLECTION: BEAR GOOD FRUITS – TUESDAY 11TH FEBRUARY, 2020

TUESDAY 11TH FEBRUARY, 2020

THEME: BEAR GOOD FRUITS

PASSAGE: PHILIPPIANS 1:2-11

HYMN: MHB 410 – COME, ye that love the Lord

MEMORY VERSE: Philippians 1:11 “Being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”

MESSAGE

The fruit is the seed-bearing part of a plant. It is also an end-result of a process. In the event of spiritual attainment, it is the result of a relationship with God through Christ. Righteousness is right-standing with God. Although the man was born in God’s righteousness, he fell into sin through disobedience in the Garden of Eden by eating the forbidden fruit. Death became the result of this disobedience or sin.

Ever since man disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, he had been groping in the maze or darkness of sin. God loves man and therefore made a plan of salvation for man from sin and Satan. Christ Jesus, the Son of God, was sent to the world to die for mankind. Therefore, whoever believes in the offering of Christ for the sin of the world is saved from sin and Satan.

The union of man and Christ in fellowship produces the fruit of righteousness which is the character of God. This fruit of righteousness gives man the right standing with God. The more our relationship with Christ deepens after redemption, the more fruit of righteousness, which portrays the character of God, multiplies.

Your fellowship with God deepens as you fellowship with the people of God. Sin diminishes while God’s righteousness flourishes. You will be fruitful and your fruits will multiply as you give yourself more to fellowshipping with God and His children. Evil utterances, adultery, stealing, pride and all vices are put to death. Truth, love, patience, self-discipline, humility and all forms of God’s righteousness flourish. It is our prayer that we all bear good and durable fruits that will lead us to eternal life.

PRAYER: Almighty God, grant me the grace to unite more with you that my fruits in Your righteousness might multiply in Jesus name. Amen.
