DAILY REFLECTION: LET YOUR GIFT EDIFY THE CHURCH – WEDNESDAY 29TH APRIL, 2020

WEDNESDAY 29TH APRIL, 2020

THEME: LET YOUR GIFT EDIFY THE CHURCH
PASSAGE: 1 CORINTHIANS 14:1-13

The Church is an investment of the Kingdom of God. Apostle Paul writes in 1 Cor. 12:7 “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” (RSV)

There is a common good that the gift of Christ and of the Spirit is supposed to serve the body of Christ. By this, no one should play monopoly of the gift that God has given him/her. You have account to give of the portion of the gift and grace given to you to edify the Church and bring profit to His Kingdom.

The word “gift”, means you are not the original owner, it was given to you. It is then expected that you use according to the instruction of the giver. No man receives anything except it is given from above.

No believer is without a gift and there is a measure of blessing you are to bring to the body of Christ as a member of the body.

Prayerfully identify your gift;

Develop your gift;

Use your gift well and for the edification of the church and the less-privileged in the society;

Be mindful of the collective interest (the Church).

Avoid pride.

To whom much is given, much is expected. As each has received a gift, employ it for one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.

Do not let God regret giving you the gift. Remember He has a replacement for you, if you are not using it correctly.

Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of Light for the edification of the Church.

HYMN: MHB 781 “LORD, speak to me that I may speak……”

MEMORY VERSE: 1 Corinthians 14:12: “Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel.”

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, as You have blessed me, help me to be a blessing to the Church, the community and the poor. Amen.
