MESSAGE
Taking decisions over issues could be a very tasking matter in our personal or corporate existence. Men do not like making mistakes. So when very important decisions that sometimes affect our future are to be taken, we rely on hindsight or data or experience in such matters. Very rarely does man display the necessary foresight though he may be good and experienced in things historical.
However, all these may fail when we rely solely upon our own wisdom and understanding. In our personal life or in the life of our community, we should rely on the wisdom that comes from God. It was God’s wisdom that created all things and is sovereign over all circumstances. To achieve God’s wisdom, you need to accept Him and have faith in His Word, and His Son, Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world. When you interpret events that happened in the Bible and even around you on a daily basis, you would not fail to see a controlling hand of God in these events.
The Bible is filled with such examples of events and how God’s wisdom supersedes the wisdom of man. Hebrews 11:1-11 tells of our forefathers of faith that did not rely on earthly wisdom in their circumstances but took decisions that appeared stupid to the world. Noah and Abraham are clear examples here. We now know they were the wise ones.
So when faced with decisions about your circumstances, take it to the One who sees beyond the haze of uncertainty and can take your hand and walk with you through the challenges to your expected destination according to His will. Remember that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Wisdom is the principal thing, seek God’s wisdom (James 1:5).
PRAYER: I need You, dear God, in all areas of my life. Endow me with Your wisdom, knowledge to successfully navigate this world in Jesus’ name. Amen.
