DAILY REFLECTION: CRAVE FOR GOD’S PRESENCE – MONDAY 5TH JULY, 2021.

REFLECTION FOR TODAY
MONDAY 5TH JULY, 2021
THEME: CRAVE FOR GOD’S PRESENCE
PASSAGE: PSALM 84:1-12
MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 42:2 “My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?”
Read – Day: Matt 17; Night: Psalm 96-100
Psalm 84 is dedicated to the Chief musician upon Gittite harp. It is one of the Psalms for the sons of Korah. We all delight to be where our interest lies. Lovers of alcohol gather where they are sold. Some even bring it to their homes. So also are those who love football. Those who love something are always found where those things are present. It is a natural instinct.
Likewise, those who love the Lord will always be found in His presence. To crave for something means to have a hot desire, need, hunger, yearning, or longing for that thing. This can best be explained by the way the deer in the desert is said to pant for waters in Psalm 42.
In the same way, we need to crave for the presence of the Lord with a very hot hunger that nothing else can fill except His Word. God’s presence has many benefits. There is the fullness of joy and pleasures (Psalm 16:11). Also, there is divine protection and rest (Exodus 33:14). You also receive strength. There, you hear God’s voice as David went into His presence and sat before Him (1Chronicles 17:16).
Craving God’s presence in the underlying word that Psalm 91 stands upon -“He who dwells in the secret place…”Note that God’s presence is not a special place or venue; rather, it is the place, time, or altar that we consecrate to seek His face. It can be the temple, tabernacle, church, house or the place dedicated for prayer in your house.
You receive many blessings from His presence. You are safe and secure in God’s presence. So, craving for God’s presence is not an option; it is the only right choice we have, which opens to us the riches of His presence and bestows on us His many benefits.
PRAYER: Lord, instill in my heart a hot craving for Thy presence and make it my utmost heart’s desire, for I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
