THEME: SALVATION BELONGS TO GOD 1
PASSAGE: PSALM 3: 1 – 8
MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 28: 8 “The Lord is the Strength of His people, a Fortress of salvation for His anointed one”
HYMN: MHB 439 (22.214.171.124.) – O SAVIOUR, I have naught to plead.
Psalm 3 was written by David. He had vacated his palace and was running for his life from his rebellious son, Absalom and his cohorts. David could have defeated his enemies with his army but decided to depend on God to save him. David’s assurance that God has heard his plea for help was so strong that, even in the midst of tribulation, he could sleep well (Ps. 3: 5).
When we face trials and troubles, we might be tempted to believe that God has forsaken us. David, however, assures us that the Lord mighty in battle, the El-Shaddai God will not abandon His children when they are in trouble. God is always with His children. It is a grave mistake to turn to any other source, apart from God, when we find ourselves in difficult situations.
When we have a health challenge, the first place to which we run should not be the best hospital just because we can afford it. We can overcome fear and distress by trusting God for His guidance and protection. It is God who will show you which hospital to attend through His providence.
Is there anything that is troubling your mind and giving you sleepless nights at this time? Go to God today in prayer and put your trust in Him. He will save you and give you peace. He is in control of all circumstances.
PRAYER: Lord, I put my trust in You; let me not be put to shame, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
