PASSAGE: PSALM 139:13-18
MEMORY VERSE: Psalms139:14“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works and that my soul knows very well.”
Read – Day: 1 Cor 10; Night: 1 King 20-21
Have you seen people pay Artists a huge amount of money to hand-draw their portraits? You will hear them say, “Oh my God, this is great!” Or, “Wow, this is awesome.”Here the artist and the person who is drawn are both excited. Compare the imagination with God’s excitement of creating you in His own image and likeness, even God gave an advanced commendation to Himself beyond the usual, “And God saw that it was good” in Gen; 1:4, 10,18,18,21,25. After creating us, He said, “His creation was not just good, but the emergence of us made it very good (Gen. 1:31).” What a privilege! Indeed, you are special.
The psalmist in our text today, gave a contemporary specialness of our existence. The fertilization of spermatozoa and eggs that made us be among the living today is beyond scientific explanation. No wonder the song “I am wonderfully and fearfully made, I belong to God and I resemble Him” was culled from v 14 of the passage.
We rarely go out every day without looking at the mirror. When you look at the mirror, what do you see? Some see a horrible image and have to challenge God by painting themselves the Jezebel’s way. This is however not a dig against good looks. Please ensure that you look good and smell nice. Even Jesus was anointed with the best perfume at birth and before death. Moreover, whatever we have today are processed from the originals of what He created.
Now that you understand how special you are, will you like to recite the psalmist’s confession, Ps. 139; 17 “ God, your thought for me is precious and special, your blessings are uncountable” and for the privilege of seeing the last day of this month, I appreciate you. Continue to feel special, for God loves you.
HYMN: MHB 35 –FOR the beauty of the earth.
PRAYER: For creating me in Your own image and likeness, Lord I am grateful. Accept my praise, in Jesus’ name.
