DAILY REFLECTION: GOD WILL COMPENSATE YOU – WEDNESDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER, 2021.

WEDNESDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER, 2021
THEME: GOD WILL COMPENSATE YOU
PASSAGE: 1 CORINTHIANS 15:51-58
MEMORY VERSE: 1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
HYMN: MHB 528 (7.6.7.6.D.) – IN heavenly love abiding
MESSAGE
Dearly beloved, it is no joke that Jesus resurrected from the dead. His resurrection is proof that we are serving the living God, who rewards everyone who faithfully walks with Him (Hebrews 11:6). It is our faith in Jesus Christ that gives us the victory over death (1 Corinthians 15:12-19,54-57).
However, for you to be qualified for compensation at the end of this Christian race, you must be saved i.e. you must truly accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour (1 Corinthians 15:1-2).
In essence, what this passage is trying to communicate is simply that the Christian believer has a living hope (verses 17-19). All the believer has to do is to keep pressing on because at the end of his/her life’s journey, there is a reward (1 Corinthians 9:24-27). The reward or compensation is from God Almighty.
However, there is a need to look at those attitudes the Lord God must see in the life of a Christian believer before He can compensate such a Christian. 1 Corinthians 15:58 enumerates them all:
– Steadfastness – which means to endure patiently. A steadfast person is one who is reliable, faithful and true to the end;
– Immovability–which means impossible to change or persuade otherwise, stability with God;
– Always abounding in the work of the Lord;
– Having the consciousness that your labour is not in vain in the Lord (Hebrews 6:10a)
So dearly beloved, keep on serving the Lord because your compensation from God is sure in heaven. God bless you as you do so.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, please give me the grace to meet up to Your expectations in order to obtain the great rewards that You have for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.
