THEME: THE UNATTAINABLE KNOWLEDGE
PASSAGE: PSALMS 139:1-6
MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 139:6 “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.”
HYMN: MHB 8 (220.127.116.11.18.104.22.168.) – O WORSHIP the King.
The world has produced great authors, scientists, researchers and achievers who tell their audience only what they want them to know, yet there is one who is the host of all knowledge. David said, “O Lord, You have searched me, and known me. My down sitting and my uprising, You understand my thoughts afar off” (Psalm 139:1-2).
You have a God Who understands you better than you understand yourself. Imagine a man dying of health challenge yet unable to explain to the doctor what exactly is the ailment. The patient’s inability to explain himself limits the doctor’s knowledge to help. On the contrary, God’s knowledge is beyond that of the patient and the doctor. He is able to bring perfect solution while the doctor only tries his best. God does not need your assistance to do His work because His ways and thoughts are higher than ours. He is ubiquitous, and knows the intent of everybody’s heart. Your address is known to Him at any time and wherever you may be!
David said, Lord, you beset me behind and before, you laid Your hand upon me. We need to continually praise Him because we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” and His thought to us “are precious” Therefore David wants God to slay the wicked who would not appreciate God’s good and great works.
No person can attain God’s knowledge. We only need to submit to Him and, with His all-surpassing knowledge, will sustain those who call upon Him in every miserable condition.
PRAYER: Almighty Father, my wisdom is but a vapour that melts in the midst of trouble. Help me to perpetually depend on Your surpassing knowledge, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
