WEDNESDAY 3RD NOVEMBER, 2021
THEME: THE VOICE OF THE LORD
PASSAGE: PSALM 29: 3 – 11.
MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 29:4 “The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty.”
HYMN: MHB 746 (10.7.10.7. and refrain) – I AM Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice
Voice is sound we make with the mouth. Often the Biblical writers depict God in anthropomorphic language. This is not a sin for we can only describe Him according to human knowledge and understanding. Voice is powerful. It produces words and makes effect the intention of the speaker, more importantly when it is inspired by the Holy Spirit.
The Psalmist observes the creation and sees that they are moving without seeing the power that is moving them. He heard the sound as waves stir up the sea, as wind blows, cedar trees break. The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire, shakes the wilderness and makes calves to give birth before their time. What a majestic and awesome King of the Storm!
In the passage, the voice of God is mentioned seven times. Jesus spoke seven words on the cross to complete our salvation. The voice of God signifies deliverance from all forms of oppression and suppression to advancement, breakthroughs, healings, promotions; from hindrance to having insight for business enlargement, success in academics and in achievement. The voice turned darkness to light (Gen. 1: 3).
The voice that is coming to you today is voice of victory over challenges of life, voice that will lift you up beyond your imagination. The voice of God is powerful and full of majesty (Ps. 29: 4). God has never stopped speaking to situations but the person who will hear His voice would have enthroned Jesus Christ in his/her heart and must have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Let Jesus be the Lord and Saviour of your life so that you can rejoice always in His voice of victory.
PRAYER: Lord, as I go out today, give me grace to hear Your voice of direction to enter into a new level of glory, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
