Daily Reflection: THE YEARNING FOR GOD? – Thursday 12th July, 2018

TEXT: PSALM 27: 7-14
MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 27:14 “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage,
and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
The Psalmist (David) was a seeker of God in all ramifications, a man after God’s own heart. He resolved and directed his heart to seek the Lord and he found Him. The demand for the Lord is not what we can play around with at any time of our life. There are times when we are distressed like David here. These happen to many of us at various times but the quest for the Lord should not be only when we are having issues; we should be people who seek the Lord every day of our lives. Our lives cannot be complete without Him.

When the Lord is not in nor with us, our adversaries take over and the result can be very disastrous! When our parents forsake us, can we, by any means, make anything out of life? By all means we can if we have the Lord in our lives. The absence of the Lord in someone’s life is the beginning of sorrow for that person. Let us all desire the Lord. Let us thirst for Him. It is then we can be satisfied in all we do
Seek the face of the Lord and desire His presence, and you will surely see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. God is still God and He will always help us. Let us not drive Him away with our sins; rather, let us draw near to Him so that He can also draw near to us. Let us have implicit confidence in His ability to deliver us from our foes. Only then can He hear us when we cry unto Him.

PRAYER: Lord, I need You every day of my life. Manifest Yourself daily in all I do because without You, Lord, I can do nothing. Be my friend for in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
