Theme: Do Not Fret
Passage: II Chronicles 32:1-8
MEMORY VERSE: II Chronicles 32:7, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him”.
HYMN: MHB – 822 ONWARD! Christian soldiers,
The world is full of many things that make one to fret, especially when one is achieving some feats in life. In the passage, Sennacherib, meaning ‘the moon-god has increased brothers) came after king Hezekiah’s great spiritual revival and reformation in Judah.
The oppositions that come to one on the way of success often make one to fret. The confidence that helps us not to fret is only when we are in Christ Jesus who has conquered every other power including the moon-god of Sennacherib. Just as Hezekiah encouraged the Israelites not fret in the passage because of his faith in the supremacy of the power of God over their enemies, so we Christians should be encouraged in the Lord amidst any adverse condition. We should maintain our stand in the Lord against those opposing forces and surely we will experience victory over all situations.
Romans 8:20 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose”.
Therefore, nothing should make us to lose confidence and faith in the Almighty Father because if God is for us, who can be against us? (Rom. 8:3). Nothing whatsoever should threaten us for any reason for in all these things we are more than conquerors through Christ who loves us. (Rom. 8:37).
PRAYER: Jehovah, always be with me in every battle in life and grant me victory in all fronts in Jesus’ name. Amen!
