FRIDAY 31ST JANUARY, 2020
THEME: DON’T LOSE YOUR INTEGRITY
PASSAGE: JOB 2:1-12
MEMORY VERSE: Job 2:10 “But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? “In all these Job did not sin with his lips.’’
HYMN: 163- DEAR master, in whose life I see
Integrity is refusal to compromise on matters of godly principle. Walking with God requires a level of integrity and uprightness of heart. Without this, it is impossible to please God, just as it is impossible to please God without faith. One of the dangers of lacking integrity is being at the mercy of your enemies, because the Bible says that if a man’s way does not please the Lord, his enemies can never be at peace with him (Prov. 16:7).
The life of Job is a great lesson to all Christians. In Job’s case, though his affliction tarried, he held unto his integrity and God vindicated him at last and blessed him more than he ever had. To walk in integrity is to walk in wisdom; giving more attention to truth, justice, fair-play, righteousness, etc.
Are there benefits for keeping one’s integrity? Yes, these are:
– Blessing of God on children even after the man or woman with integrity has died (Proverbs 20:7).
– Just as salt preserves food, integrity also preserves life. (Psalm 25:21) says “Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on Thee.”
– It creates a platform for divine restoration and unending mercies of the Lord (Psalm 26:1)
– It is also a pathway for divine guidance and direction (Proverbs 11:3)
Beloved, what you are going through may be a test of your integrity. Stand with God; He is watching if you can stand through. The good news is that you are not alone in this battle. God Himself is with you to help you through and show you the way of escape. Just look unto Him and maintain your integrity and uprightness of heart come what may. You will become victorious.
PRAYER: Lord, Our Banner, help me to be a man (woman) of integrity and whatever happens in this corrupt and sin-infested world, help me to always be above board in Jesus’ name. Amen.
