THEME: Take It To The Lord 1
PASSAGE: Acts 4:23–31
HYMN: MHB 538- WHAT a friend we have in Jesus
MEMORY VERSE: Acts 4:24 “So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them,”
In our world of threats, degradation, senseless killings, kidnapping, armed banditry and unimaginable threats to life and property, who do you run to? The early apostles were imprisoned and later released and warned not to preach the Gospel in public any longer. Obviously, the Apostles did not have any human authority to take their case to. Rather, they went into fervent prayers. In one accord they took their case to God in worship and prayer.
Beloved, who do you run to when you are worried in life? Psalm 121: 1-3, says, “I lift up my eyes to the hills from whence does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot to be moved.” In your period of trouble or peril, whom do you turn your eyes to? To man, herbalists or God, the author and finisher of our faith?
The apostles went to God who empowered them with the Holy Spirit, which made them bold to speak publicly the more. Timid Peter who in Lk 22:54-62 denied Jesus, spoke boldly before the Jewish 71- member Sanhedrin. Don’t be confused about the situation surrounding you now. Wake up, and take it to God. Every matter taken to the Lord is solved without stress. Take it to the Lord. No matter the time, He will solve it for you.
Don’t run to man but run to God. Don’t go down to Egypt for help! Take it to the Lord, He is able and abundantly able to solve the problem.
PRAYER: Lord, take over every condition that troubles my life and give me peace and joy in Jesus’ name. Amen.
