TUESDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER, 2020
THEME: God Never Fails 2
PASSAGE: Isaiah 38:1-15
HYMN: MHB 538 -WHAT a friend we have in Jesus
MEMORY VERSE: Isaiah 38:15 “But what can I say? He has spoken to me and He Himself has done this.
MESSAGE
The steadfast love of our God never ceases, His mercy never comes to an end, they are new every morning, great is Your faithfulness O God, great is Your faithfulness” (if you know the song, you can sing and worship God ).
Hezekiah was probably still young when Isaiah told him to put his house in order because he would die. However, Hezekiah humbled himself before God (2 Chron. 7:13-14), for he believed the pronouncement of Isaiah concerning his death and God added 15 more years to his life.
Brethren, God is too faithful to abandon you in time of your challenges. Just humble yourself like Hezekiah before Him and He will answer you. A hymn writer Joseph Medlicott Scriven (1820 -1886) wrote in MHB 538 v 3: “Are you weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care Jesus is still our refuge, take it to God in prayers. Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer…”
Hezekiah used his good works as a strong point in holding onto God for his healing and restoration to life. Brethren, what will be your own point (work) that you will hold strongly before God to enjoy His faithfulness?
In verse 3 of our text, Hezekiah prayed that God should ”Remember, O Lord, how I have walked before You faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in Your eyes”.
Beloved, God is too faithful to either disappoint or fail you. He cannot allow your deeds to go unrewarded. (1 Cor. 15:58). Just be faithful, live righteously, be committed to the heavenly course and God will not fail you.
PRAYER: Thank You, Lord, for You have never failed me. Continue to manifest Your faithfulness in my life, family and our nation Nigeria in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
