THEME: The Lord’s Own Always Prevail
PASSAGE: Esther 6:6-14
HYMN: MHB 429 GOD of my life, through all my days
MEMORY VERSE: Esther 6:13 “And told Zeresh, his wife, and all his friends everything that had happened to him. His advisers and his wife Zeresh said to him, “Since Mordecai, before whom your downfall has started, is of Jewish origin, you cannot stand against him -you will surely come to ruin.”
The passage before us is the story of Haman and Mordecai. Haman thought he would be the only one the king would desire to honour but, to his greatest amazement, he was asked to decorate Mordecai, his archenemy, and proclaim him the fellow the king delights to honour.
The choice of you, your family, your business, your ministry, etc by God has placed you at vantage position. God puts you at a place that you are seated far above principalities and powers, above any name and titles (Eph.1:20-23 cf 2:6), that you cannot but succeeds in all your endeavours.
The wife of Haman told him “since Mordecai before whom your downfall has started, is of Jewish origin, you cannot stand against him” (Esther 6:13). God chose the Jewish nation as His first son. The Jews were a special people and God had always protected and delivered them from their enemies.
Similarly, as believers in Christ Jesus, God is at work in our daily lives. Facing difficult situations at times does not connote the absence of God in our situations. It only indicates a trying moment for proper placement.
The Scriptures makes it succinctly clear that “For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4). God is the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
Since you are the chosen child of the Lord, you are positioned to prevail, to succeed, to overcome, to rejoice, to laugh and to celebrate. You are destined to prevail over the strategies of the devil. The Scriptures says ” No weapon formed against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and this is their vindication from Me declared the Lord” (Isaiah 54:17 NIV).
PRAYER: Merciful and gracious Father, as You have chosen me and my family as Your own, let not the enemy put us to shame, for I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
