Life goals are things you would like to achieve in order to become great in life. Your personal goals could range from better relationships, starting a business and traveling around the world, and so forth. While some goals are specific, others are flexible and open to interpretation, but the fact is that without a goal, one may not achieve much in life.
What is your goal? What is the driving force to move the goal to fruition? Are you one of those who believe that they would make it effortlessly? Do you find yourself aimless and bouncing around each day with no clear-cut vision and mission?
Our main goal as Christians is to make heaven. To achieve this goal, we must press on, working tirelessly for a better result. In Philippians 3:12-15, Apostle Paul stated that he was still pressing on towards attaining this heavenly calling by making Christ his own. If such a strong follower of Christ can consider himself not perfect, we can also think maturely about how to achieve this heavenly goal, no matter the cost.
In verse 9 of our text, we observed that it is only a matter of time before the Christian shall reap the divine reward. Therefore, we must heed verse 8 which advises us not to be weary in well-doing. We have been assured that in due season, we shall reap, only if we don’t faint, hence the call for every Christian to continue to press on towards the goal.
In Rev. 22:12, Jesus, our Lord, and Saviour says, ”And behold, I am coming quickly and My reward is with Me to give every man (and every person) according to as his work shall be”.
Now is the time to be focused, on the heavenly reward and ask God the grace to achieve the goal.
PRAYER: Strengthen me, O! Lord, to continue to press on to that divine target of making heaven at last, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
