DAILY REFLECTION: LIVING BY FAITH – THURSDAY 17TH JUNE, 2021.

THURSDAY 17TH JUNE, 2021
THEME: LIVING BY FAITH
PASSAGE: HEBREWS 11:30-40
MEMORY VERSE: Hebrew 11:30 “By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were compassed about seven days.”
HYMN: MHB 238 (6.6.4.6.6.6.4.) – MY faith looks up to Thee.
MESSAGE
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Heb 11:1). Faith surpasses hope because hope means it will happen but faith is believing it has happened (Mark 11: 23 – 24). To live by faith is living by the evidence or strong conviction of something happening. Holy Spirit-filled people live by faith.
Living by faith requires that we daily give ourselves to the studying of the Word of God because faith cometh by hearing and hearing the Word of God (Rom. 10: 17) Living by faith requires consistent praying and fellowshipping with God. Faith in Christ secures for us freedom from condemnation and justifies us before God. The woman with the issue of blood got her healing by believing in the power of God. She said, “if I can only touch His garment,” and her faith made her whole (Mark 5:25-29). Living by faith makes us stand out.
It was recorded that our fathers of faith and prophets could subdue kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, and stopped the mouth of lions through faith (Heb 11:33). They could do extraordinary things through their faith in God. We also can do the same if only we live by Faith. No matter the situation, no matter the storms, of life, God is ever faithful and He will bring His promises to pass. Just have faith in Him.
It is sad that many Christians neither have nor believe in faith. They doubt everything. Doubt negates faith. A faithless person is like the wave of the sea that is tossed up and down and such a person can receive nothing from God (James 1: 5 – 😎 and 1 John 5:4 says that faith overcomes, the world. Have you prayed in faith and nothing happened? Then examine your ways. Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith (Heb. 12: 2), and will answer whoever believes in Him.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, I believe in You. Help my unbelief and increase my faith in You evermore. Amen.
