DAILY REFLECTION: YOU ARE INVALUABLE – TUESDAY 29TH JUNE, 2021.

TUESDAY 29TH JUNE, 2021
THEME: YOU ARE INVALUABLE
PASSAGE: MATTHEW 10: 24-33
MEMORY VERSE: Zechariah 2:8“For this is what the Lord Almighty says: “After He has honoured me and sent me against the nations that have plundered you-for whoever touches you touches the apple of His eye.”
HYMN: MHB 515 (6.6.6.6.D.)– THY way, not mine. O, Lord.
MESSAGE
The passage for today was part of Jesus’ assurances to those who believe in Him that no matter what happens, God values them and would not allow them to be tempted more than their faiths (1 Corinth.10:13).
Jesus made His disciples (including us), realize that they will be operating among enemies. There will be fear of preaching the Gospel or reasons not to even preach the Gospel. Some will prefer to be Nicodemus’ Disciples. There may be suffering, persecutions and slander by people, as He was accused of operating with the spirit of Beelzebub the prince of darkness (Matt. 10:25).
Brethren, if two sparrows were as cheap as one coin and not any of the birds would drop without the knowledge of our Father in heaven, how much more will He care for our safety? If He numbered all our hairs and none of them would drop without His knowing, how much more will He care about our safety? Saying that He will be with us if we pass through fire; and will not allow waters to submerge us, imply that there will be time of hardship, suffering, and spiritual suffocation, but He will see us through (Isaiah 43:2).
Like Paul, we should count whatever we experience as a privilege to serve Christ (Philip. 3:7-10). Preach the Gospel in season and out of season. Do not deny Him in the face of suffering, so that He would not deny you in the presence of His Father in heaven (Matt. 10:32-33).
God cares for His children. He will not allow anyone to oppress them. He rebukes kings for their sake and declares that no one should touch His anointed nor do His prophets any harm (Ps. 105:14-16). He promised to be the wall of fire around us and He will never fail His promises (Zech. 2:5). We are the apples of His eye and He is always there to protect us.
PRAYER: Father, give me the grace to always trust You and preach the Gospel in season and out of season in Jesus’ name. Amen.
