MEMORY VERSE: Ephesians 2:10 “For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
HYMN: MHB 489 (C.M.) – WORKMAN of God! O lose not heart.
Generally, we all have a purpose to fulfil here on earth as Christians. Our primary and compulsory purpose or destiny in life is to fulfil the will of God by knowing Him and His son, Jesus Christ, and being obedient to them.
Many people find it difficult to fulfil God’s will because they are still struggling with sin and are spiritually dead because of their disobedience.
To fulfil the will of God, we must know Him, what He likes and what He abhors. Without these, we will be walking in our own vanity and we will not be able to fulfil His purpose and neither will we ever be fulfilled ourselves.
We must not forget that every believer in Christ has a specific purpose that God has called him or her to fulfil. Your own might be to work as a Minister of God, or to be a Peacekeeper, or to help others and touch lives in different forms. This was concluded in Verse-10 of our text: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should work in them.”
God knows the beginning from the end and the end from the beginning and knows what we are supposed to do in life. 1Peter 1:17 says, that God, who is no respecter of persons, will judge everyone according to his/her works.
You may say, “I don’t know what I am supposed to do; after all I am not called into the ordained Ministry. But don’t forget that everyone must partake in the five-fold ministry either as an Apostle, Prophet, Pastor, Evangelist or Teacher. We were all created in Christ Jesus for good works. I don’t know if you have ever given a thought to this, but God expects you to fulfil a calling here on earth, and we will all be accountable for every bit of our time. Our reward in eternity will be based on what we did with the talents we have been given. Examine Yourself, whether you are still fulfilling that God-given destiny.
PRAYERS: Heavenly Father, help me to discover the purpose for which I was created and grant me the enablement to fulfil it as and when due in Jesus’ name. Amen.
