DAILY REFLECTION: LOVE ALL – MONDAY 22ND NOVEMBER, 2021

MONDAY 22ND NOVEMBER, 2021
THEME: LOVE ALL
PASSAGE: LUKE 6:30-36
MEMORY VERSE: Luke 6:36 “Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.”
HYMN: MHB 435 (8.8.8.4.) – LOVE is the Key of life and death.
MESSAGE
According to Greek philosophers the Greek word ‘eros’ means “erotic love,” “philo” means “brotherly love” and “storage” means “natural affection,” love without any attachment. But “agape,” which means love your enemy is really a different category of love that the world has not seen in action until Jesus came and infected His followers with it.
Jesus was not talking about mere love here; He spoke about positive mind. This teaching was practicable and we can clearly see that Jesus was the doer of the word He spoke. On the cross, He prayed for His persecutors (Luke 23:34).
David had two golden opportunities to end the life of Saul, his archenemy, but David showed kindness (1Samuel 24:3-7). What a great man with the spirit of God in him. Remember, Saul made 21 attempts to kill David. God is love. So having Him as your Father will not be hard for you to show love even to the people that do not deserve it. Do you only love people that love you? Loving your enemy and praying for those who persecute you attract great reward.
Never forget what the Holy Bible says,”Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12: 12). Do you have a boss that hates you without reason? Love him and pray for him. Are you in a family where hatred is the swan song everyday? Use the instrument of kindness to preach the Gospel.
The rewards for loving all are: (i) You have eternal joy, (Proverb 17:22); (ii) You become the son of God in heaven; (iii) You become a co-ruler of the New Jerusalem; (iv). You have one of the mansions in heaven (John 14:1-2).
Beloved, all the commands for us in Luke 6:30-36 are not negotiable if truly we are to inherit the Kingdom of God.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to dwell forever in Your pavilion in order not to give room for Satan in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
